Well thanks for asking Rev.

I've been making a sesame sourdough whole wheat bread lately.

Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

but I may ditch the whole wheat and just go with a plain white sourdough for Thanksgiving.

This sourdough bread has a great little flavor.

But, not nearly as good as Wonder Bread. That's a pretty tough flavor to beat!!!

I'm the bread man! I bring the rolls. Once in a while I make a pie, pumpkin custard or something, but I'm the bread guy in this family.

I am missing that crusty mac 'n cheese though. Will have to consider that. You've got me thinking now....

was just talking about it tonight at the table. I put ketchup on the side for mine.

few others do that I guess, but that's how I like it.

It sounds like a good idea, but I never heard of Mac and Cheese on Thanksgiving. Turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes and the classic Ocean Spay cranberry cylinder, but not mac and cheese.

Oh, Frank, Mac & Cheese is soul food. No meal is complete without it. Especially when you give it that bit of crust the way ThirstyMan prepares it.

You should visit the Bayou around Thanksgiving one of these days, my friend.

You might not find many traditional meals, but still yet, food so good it'll make your tongue slap your brains out.

Well if there is one thing that definitely missing from our Thanksgiving dinners, it's soul. It's god awful in it's mind numbing routine and menu. The only excitement that I look forward to is betting with my sister whether our burned out old man will start a fire when his arthritic hands vibrate the turkey into the fryer. In the last 15 years, I have won the bet twice. Grease fires are cool.

I will put the thought out for the mac and cheese this year. I know I can get at least 8 people on board. The others I will work on after they get drunk.

BTW - see if you can talk 'em in to sprinkling pieces of fried ham, or at least some real bacon bits to that baked Mac & Cheese.

I call it Triple Bypass in a Casserole Dish.

I don't know about the ham. That's a bridge too far with this crowd, but bacon is an easy sell. On paper, it seems like it would be a winner with turkey.

That's funny. I would have guessed with your haughty requirements for bread, you would have some specialty bacon from free range pigs crafted by some small hippy commune in western MA somewhere. Not some commercial supermarket stuff.

Deep-fried wild turkey.

Wild hog shoulder.

Sausage jambalaya.

Shrimp etouffee.

Cole slaw. Lots of Cole slaw.

Hush puppies.

Baked beans (home cooked).

Dressing (Mama's recipe).

Deviled armadillo eggs.

Buttered mashed potatoes with squirrel gravy.

Baked Mac & Cheese sprinkled with bits of ham or bacon.

Buttermilk biscuits and cornbread.

Pecan, chess, sweet potato and pumpkin pies.

And, of course, sweet iced tea and strong coffee.
