CBS has a show called "Evil". The show is described as "Evil is a psychological mystery that examines the origins of evil along the dividing line between science and religion. Think of it as a sort of cheap rip off of "The X-files".

Tonight I saw a promo for its next showing which is an investigation into possession. A obviously pregnant woman is asked if she believes she is possessed. She answers no, not her, but she thinks her fetus is.

How many women in the 6th month or beyond would say "fetus" instead of baby? And that, my friends, is how it is done.

Language matters because whoever controls the words controls the conversation, because whoever controls the conversation controls its outcome, because whoever frames the debate has already won it, because telling the truth has become harder and harder to achieve in an America drowning in Orwellian Newspeak.
