Generally, I feel positive about the outcome especially with local results. The worst outcome is, of course, the Dems capturing the House. Mad Maxine will now be the chair of the Financial Services Committee which monitors such things as insurance companies and banks. Her tenure should be good for a few laughs. The most disappointing outcome to me was the reelection of Bob Menendez to the Senate in NJ. How the people of that state could send that crook and possible pedophile back to DC is beyond me. I know there are other very important contests I wish we had won (e. g., John James in MI), but the Menendez win says volumes to me about the state of morality in NJ and within the Democrat Party in general.
Now what will the Dems do. Obstruct, of course, but are we to be subjected to 2 years of Democrat smear campaigns and Trump investigations? Well, it's the voice of the people and we must live with it for at least the next 2 years.
One very positive story I am almost sure you will not hear about is out of West Virginia.
ZitatWEST VIRGINIA, November 6, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – Pro-lifers won a major victory in West Virginia Tuesday, as voters approved a ballot initiative clarifying that the state constitution contains no “right” to abortion.
With 97% of precincts reporting in, Amendment 1 passed by a margin of 17,184 votes, West Virginia Metro News reports. It amends the West Virginia Constitution to include a line stating, “Nothing in this Constitution secures or protects a right to abortion or requires the funding of abortion.”
The measure is meant to counteract a 1993 ruling by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals that has long forced Medicaid to fund abortions as a state-level constitutional "right.” While its success does not affect or override Roe v. Wade, it does ensure that the state Constitution can’t be used as a basis to strike down duly-enacted pro-life laws in the Mountain State.

I live in New York. the dims took the State Senate [They already have the Legislature], and Smarmy Andy Cuomo won a third term. So think of us as California with snow.
As far as the rest, I disagree. the Dims now have subpoena power in the house. Schiff will chair the house Intelligence committee. Nadler will chair Judiciary. I believe Elijah Cummings, the "Fool On The hill" will have oversight. They'll be into every aspect of trump's life from his taxes to his 1st Grade date within a week of the new congress. They WILL impeach him [even though they'll lose in the Senate], because [a] It's what their base wants, [b] dims politics is cheap theater, and impeachment will be, and [c],It'll tie up Trump with bullshit for the next two years, forcing him to govern by Executive decree, which, as they have learned, is easy to undo... Occasional Cortex is now the youngest member of the House.
Our electorate gave the keys to the moneybox to the Party of 'Resistance', the "Know Nothings" [about anything] with a nation in its best shape in decades. I weep for the Republic. Franklin said we had one "if we could keep it". I don't think we can.
The loss of the House was the most devastating part of last night. Lots of bright spots, in FL and TX and MO. The blue wave hardly broke America last nite.
Sadly the zoo keepers soon to be in charge can only wreak havoc, not justice. But it'll be an interesting challenge for DT to negotiate through this bumpy road but he will. He's a winner! Have I said that before? TM

Overall, it wasn't bad. We get some pretty good news actually. No more listening to Jeff Flake as McSally wins his vacated seat. No more Paul Ryan as [R] Bryan Steil takes over for him, Jon Kyle has already been appointed to take the place of Juan McCain and young Josh Hawley replaces the turncoat Dem Claire McCaskill. A lot of butt-hurt no goods have been eliminated!
We just have to tolerate the histrionics of the Dem Clown House.

I took yesterday off from politics. I needed a break.
It's good that the -R's retained the senate, although with the Rino's one never knows. Here in Jersey, my house seat was flipped to -D. Menendez is still in the senate.
The election of two Muslimas widens the wedge of cultural Jihad in the US. This is definitely not a good thing. I suspect that the -D's taking the house will only increase the obstruction to Trump's agenda
IMHO the mixed results will further embolden the brown shirts. Their free reign continues to undermine civil society and the rule of law.

ZitatRep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) narrowly defeated Republican Doug Wardlow to become Minnesota’s next attorney general, after a bitter campaign rocked by allegations of abuse from the congressman’s ex-girlfriend. With 94 percent of precincts reporting, Ellison led Wardlow, a former state legislator, by more than 100,000 votes.
