What just happened? He thinks because he's president, he can just decree that insurance companies can continue to offer old plans?
I haven't felt so BS'd listening to a president's press conference since RMN gave his non-answer jive-talk many, many years ago. Nixon was advanced at saying whatever he wanted to say regardless of the question.
But this guy drones on and on so slowly and takes so long saying so little that you feel pain and can hardly wait for him to stop talking. He frustrates everyone in the room. He has no answers and after he's done you have no sense that he's being honest at all.
I hope America deals harshly with him for the damage he has wrought to our Country and our healthcare system. So many previously insured are going to be completely uninsured in the next few months.
But now the Great Oz has decreed we can keep what we had. But .....that's what he said all along.
There's no longer an anti-war Left. There's only an anti-Right Left
Obama Offers One Year “Fix” to O-Care – Until 2014 Election Is Over
Barack Obama offered a one year “fix” to Obamacare today. Those people who lost their plans can keep them for a year… Until the 2014 election is over. He was a half hour late for the press conference.
President Obama:
“The rollout has been rough so far… The numbers yesterday mean Americans want affordable health care… Americans who have plans before the Care Act can keep those plans. Today we expand that… Insurers can extend those plans until 2014… I will not accept plans that wish to repeal the whole law… It’s important that we’re hones and straight forward… The Affordable Care Act is going to work for the American people.”
Then after 2014 Americans will lose their plan again. Funny, the president forgot to attack the bad apple insurance companies today.
Obama still misses the mark: HIPAA prohibits health insurance cancellations
ZitatIn an interview with The Washington Times, C. Steven Tucker, a health insurance and Obamacare expert in Illinois, explains that the HIPAA law section 2742 (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) does not permit these insurance policies to be cancelled. It has been illegal since 1997 to cancel someone’s health insurance coverage when you are sick or when you have claims.
