Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush said he would strive to be like Lyndon Johnson, the Democrat famous for expanding the U.S. welfare state through the “Great Society,” if he were elected president.
According to the Miami Herald, Bush made those comments Wednesday night in San Antonio, Florida at Saint Leo University, while speaking about education, immigration, and energy policy.
Bush did not address Johnson’s Great Society and War on Poverty programs, about which Ronald Reagan once famously quipped, “We had a war on poverty, and poverty won.”
Beyond Jeb being an asshole, he is generally stupid. Johnson was a thug, a crook and a POS. I cannot think of one thing he did well and I would argue he could have been more damaging to the country than Zero has been. Let's remember the only reason LBJ became President was because he rode JFK's coffin into the Oval Office. It wasn't because anyone liked him to begin with.

I can't believe he said that ????
He must be living in a vacuum! Doesn't he know the struggles the R's are going through right now to save America's future from the Left?
He just plain out of touch. Don't let the door hit you on the way out and Don't call us, we'll call you.

It's easy to forget that the path to Zero's tyranny has been slowly paved over decades. LBJ was one of the main pavers.
Zitathe was responsible for designing the "Great Society" legislation that included laws that upheld civil rights, public broadcasting, Medicare, Medicaid, environmental protection, aid to education, aid to the arts, urban and rural development, and his "War on Poverty." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyndon_B._Johnson

Jeb is typical eGOP. He is no doubt quite proud of any role he has played in expanding big government.
I see the day coming when an election will consist this: one branch of the ruling party running a "Bush-Clinton" ticket; while the other branch runs "Clinton-Bush".
And our rulers will tell us where "darn lucky" to have such gifted public servants to choose from.
