The GOP’s probability of taking over the United States Senate increased dramatically Wednesday with the entry of Rep. Cory Gardner into the race against incumbent Obamacare enthusiast Senator Mark Udall in Colorado.
Not one GOP seat is in danger of turning blue, despite all the yammering from Democrats about Kentucky and Georgia, where Mitch McConnell will coast and will Rep. Jack Kingston will emerge from a crowded Senate primary to win handily in the fall.
The biggest loser because of this move –other than Udall who is as tightly bound to Obamacare as President Obama himself– is Arkansas Senator Mark Pryor, whose already sinking campaign is going to quickly find itself on the wrong side of the triage tent as Democratic strategists and donors realize that Re. Tom Cotton is unbeatable in the Razorback state.
Here’s the list of Democratic seats which Republicans are positioned to take, from the mortal locks at the top down to the biggest but still possible reach at the bottom:
List follows at link. Let us hope Mr Hewitt is correct (except, maybe, about RINO McConnell who, I hope, will be replaced with a real Conservative).
Huge Hugelet is a Rinos Rino. He swooned with every vapid statement Mitt Romney made last election. With that said, I think his predictions are 85% on target. Two things I take issue with. I think the shock of the cycle will be the loss of some heavy hitters in the Primaries and that includes Mitch in KY. Primaries are all about base support and he has none compared to Bevin. Second is the NH thing. If Styne actually gets in and wins, I will be the most excited I have been since the birth of my first child or the first time I walked onto the showroom of the local Cadillac dealer and bought my first one cash. He would be so much fun it would restore all my faith in humanity and the federal govt'.

And I agree Frank, Mark Steyn is an exciting possibility. I grew up with the New Hampshire Leader and New Hampshire being conservative. Now so many from the little State of MA have moved up there it has become diluted.

But this bragging 'before the armor comes off' gives me the willies. Does it serve a useful purpose?

You're damn right it serves a purpose. It boosts the moral of the Right while pushing down the motivation of the Left. The Rats LOVE to play this game to try and make it seem that it isn't worth showing up to vote in an election cycle. Case in point, the VA Gov race last year. The Rats kept pushing the meme that McAuliflower had this thing so in the bag and it wasn't worth the time of the GOP voters to stand in line and vote. Turns out that it ended up being close enough that if a couple of these dejected voters showed up, the Cucc would have won.
Base elections like off year elections are all about motivation and mindset. Now is an excellent time to push down the Rats motivation and in turn fund raising and volunteerism.
