An historical footnote: the cartoon "If it's Brown, flush it down"? A similar bumper sticker reading "If it's Brown, flush it" was quite prevalent when Reagan ran for governor against Jerry's daddy Pat Brown in 1966. The prevalence of those bumper stickers convinced me Reagan was going to win (which he did, of course).
