Wall Street adviser: Actual unemployment is 37.2%, 'misery index' worst in 40 years

Don't believe the happy talk coming out of the White House, Federal Reserve and Treasury Department when it comes to the real unemployment rate and the true “Misery Index.” Because, according to an influential Wall Street advisor, the figures are a fraud.

In a memo to clients provided to Secrets, David John Marotta calculates the actual unemployment rate of those not working at a sky-high 37.2 percent, not the 6.7 percent advertised by the Fed, and the Misery Index at over 14, not the 8 claimed by the government.

Marotta, who recently advised those worried about an imploding economy to get a gun, said that the government isn't being honest in how it calculates those out of the workforce or inflation, the two numbers used to get the Misery Index figure.

I would like to know if this guy recalculated Inflation in his Misery Index formula. That is another metric that the Gov't has been lying about to keep the Dow artificially high and claim they are heading the economy in the right direction. As far as I can tell, most of the stats the Feds put out anymore are lies.

I've been railing about this acceptance of being lied to, by the US population, for some time. My feeling is the people like it. Pretty screwy. Maybe it's only they like it if it's done by a Democrat. Seems they were apoplectic when they thought W was lying to them. It's all situational partisanship now.

I don't think so. The public knows these numbers are compete bullshit just looking at the all time low polling on the gov't is. You can't sell green shoots and rainbows when people are living on food stamps and section 8 hand outs. If your theory was true, Zero would be in the 50%'s and congress would be loved.
