Peter King Says He May Run for President to Save the GOP from Cruz and Paul December 24, 2013 - 4:36 am by Bridget Johnson
Former Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said he’s still pondering a run for the White House because he doesn’t want Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) define the GOP.
King, who’s made five trips up to early primary state New Hampshire and admitted in July that he’s toying with the idea of a presidential campaign, told MSNBC he hasn’t made up his mind yet and his decision should come “sometime next year, either next year or the beginning of 2015.”
“Again, I’ve been up there five times. I am looking at it. People are talking to me. But so far, I’m just using it as a chance to find out what’s happening on the ground, support other Republicans. But if I see the support is there, then I’ll make that decision,” he said.
“I think a presidential run itself is very important whether it’s me or somebody else. I don’t want the Ted Cruzes and the Rand Pauls taking over the Republican Party. I want this to be a blue collar, conservative, Ronald Reagan party with someone who can work with organized labor, strong foreign policy, don’t be apologizing for America, don’t be afraid about drones attacking us in Starbucks.” .... .... ....
If these Republicans would stop biting each other, things would go a lot smoother. When all is said and done it's the people who make these choices about the next Republican nominee.
S0 go ahead numbskull, throw your hat in the ring, but for God's sake, stop with the ad hominem about the horror of Cruz and Paul.

Nah, we're the wackos, remember? We're the purists. We don't matter.
So while King is delusional if he seriously thinks he'll be the nominee, he is right in his perception that the GOPe believes it must be "saved" from the Cruz's and the Rand Pauls. So not to worry - the brilliant minds of the GOPe will bring us another McClown or Romney - and we'll likely be treated to the same result.
But on the bright side - at least we'll lose with a moderate, and the MSM won't be offended.

And what about JimRob? Will he swear he'll not support another gop-e, ban those who do, insist he'd rather shut down FR than do that, but before the election [and the next telethon] capitulate once again? I believe this would be the trifecta if he did.
ZitatPeter King: Paul 'doesn't deserve' to be a senator
ZitatRep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) on Sunday said fellow Republican Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) “doesn’t deserve to be in the United States Senate” based on his accusations against the National Security Agency over its domestic spying program.
Appearing on Fox News, the hawkish former chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee launched a broadside against Paul, saying he was “totally uninformed or he’s part of that hate America crowd that I thought left us in the 1960s.”
Earlier Sunday, the more libertarian Paul defended his planned class-action lawsuit against the NSA and suggested that both James Clapper, the director of national intelligence, and the leaker Edward Snowden deserved to be in jail.
“Rand Paul does not know what he’s talking about,” King said. “And, Rand Paul is really spreading fear among the American people.”
“To me,” King continued, “he’s either totally uninformed or he’s part of that hate America crowd that I thought left us in the 1960s. In any event, he doesn’t deserve to be in the United States Senate for spreading that type of misperception and absolute lies, to be honest with you.”
Both King and Paul have said they are considering a campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.
While Paul is a leading critic of the NSA, King is a staunch defender and said on Fox the spy agency “is doing exactly what it’s supposed to be doing.”
