I getting to hate that word bombshell. Using plasma that contains antibodies from recovered patients is an old technique that works. It is available now - no waiting. Per Dr Lipkin one patient can donate enough plasma to cure 3 people.
Dr Lipkin is an epidemiologist, who traveled to China to see how patients were being treated and was self quarantined in his basement for two weeks upon return. Now why isn't this information, along with the information that the virus responds to some anti virals, including remdesivir (from Gilead) which is in stage 3 trials.
Why isn't this being splashed all over the news.

One of the world's most renowned virologists, Dr W Ian Lipkin spoke to India Today about the coronavirus outbreak.
Explaining the new virus and how it can be contained in limited ways, Dr W Ian Lipkin said that if people avoid touching there faces so often, the risk of contracting the coronavirus will be reduced by 40 per cent.
"People touch their faces hundreds of times each day, if they do not touch their faces, it will reduce the chances of contracting the virus," Dr W Ian Lipkin explained.
The John Snow Professor of epidemiology at the University of Cambridge, Dr Lipkin imposed a self-quarantine of two weeks on himself after a work-related trip to China last year.
With 30 years of experience in diagnostics and outbreak response, he is also a director for the Center for Infection and Immunity at the Mailman School of Public Health.
Advising people on how to deal with the outbreak, Dr Ian Lipkin said, "If you think you are ill, you will have to isolate yourself."
He further added that viruses are always evolving, mutating and adapting to the environment. He asked people to wear gloves while using public transport.
Virologist Dr W Ian Lipkin said that those who have recovered from coronavirus should provide plasma to the plasma banks since it is effective in treating coronavirus.
The plasma, obtained from recovered patients, contains big volumes of antibodies for the deadly pathogen. From the donated blood, the plasma will be used to create antibodies to fight the deadly pathogens invading the victim's body.
Dr W Ian Lipkin, having 30 years of experience in diagnostics and outbreak response, said that the coronavirus is one of the "most transmissible viruses" in the world.
