"Aaron and Melissa Klein, Christian owners of the custom cake shop Sweet Cakes by Melissa, declined to create and design a cake for the wedding of two women whom they had happily served for other purposes in the past. The Kleins felt that they simply could not create a work of art celebrating something their religion prohibited.
Although the couple was able to secure another cake for their wedding within a matter of days and even received a free cake from celebrity pastry chef Duff Goldman, they filed a complaint with the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industry. The State of Oregon has prosecuted this case vigorously and has asked for damages in excess of $150,000.
The Kleins have already had to close their shop and have been struggling to make ends meet. They have five children, the youngest of which are two year old twins. The state is going after their personal assets and any amount they have to pay will be money that they would have used to pay their mortgage and feed their children.
This page exists with the knowledge and cooperation of the Kleins.
Give today to help Aaron and Melissa as they stand for their faith and their constitutional right to live out their faith without fear of punishment by the government.
Funds will be paid in one of three ways:
1. Directly to Aaron and Melissa
2. To a trust established to assist Aaron and Melissa; or
3. To non-profit organization that will hold the funds to assist Aaron and Melissa and those in similar circumstances.
Funds may be used to help cover any outstanding legal fees and costs imposed from the opposition. Funds may also be used to help replace the assets taken as a result of the legal challenges brought against Aaron and Melissa. The total cost to Aaron and Melissa is unknown because the legal challenges are ongoing. In the event the funds provided by donors exceed Aaron and Melissa’s needs, the funds will be used to cover those same expenses for others who defend their constitutional right to live consistently with their faith."
What the owners of Cakes by Melissa did is not criminal, but this surely is.
"An Oregon administrative law judge recommended today that the bakers who refused to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding should be fined $135,000.
“[T]he forum concludes that $75,000 and $60,000, are appropriate awards to compensate [the same-sex couple] for the emotional suffering they experienced,” wrote Alan McCullough, administrative law judge for Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries in his proposed order.
Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa located in Gresham, Ore., say the fine is enough to potentially bankrupt their family of seven.

In order to reach $135,000, Rachel and Laurel submitted a long list of alleged physical, emotional and mental damages they claim to have experienced as a result of the Kleins’ unlawful conduct.
One of the women, whose name was redacted to protect her privacy, listed 88 symptoms as grounds for compensation. The other, whose name was also redacted, listed 90.
Examples of symptoms include “acute loss of confidence,” “doubt,” “excessive sleep,” “felt mentally raped, dirty and shameful,” “high blood pressure,” “impaired digestion,” “loss of appetite,” “migraine headaches,” “pale and sick at home after work,” “resumption of smoking habit,” “shock” “stunned,” “surprise,” “uncertainty,” “weight gain” and “worry.”

Aaron, in an exclusive interview with The Daily Signal on Sunday, said the state of Oregon is attempting to “obliterate” his family.
“The state is now saying that we can award damages above and beyond what you have already suffered … and they have no qualms about doing this,” he said. “It is really showing the state is taking a stance on absolutely obliterating somebody that takes a different stance than the state has.”
Aaron is quite correct. the purpose of this fine is not only to crush him and Melissa, but to send a warning that resistance to the homo juggernaut will be severely punished.

When I clicked th link i got the message: "Campaign Not Found We're sorry, but the campaign URL you entered cannot be found."
The gofundme page has been cancelled: "On their Facebook page yesterday, the Kleins posted a link to a GoFundMe fundraising campaign set up for them. In just four hours it had reached over $20,000. It quickly increased to a reported $109,000 before GoFundMe canceled it.
Why?
GoFundMe says it does not allow money to be raised on their site for people who have been found to be in violation of the law.
"After careful review by our team, we have found the 'Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa' campaign to be in violation of our Terms and Conditions," GoFundMe said in a statement.
"The money raised thus far will still be made available for withdrawal. While a different campaign was recently permitted for a pizzeria in Indiana, no laws were violated and the campaign remained live. However, the subjects of the 'Support Sweet Cakes By Melissa' campaign have been formally charged by local authorities and found to be in violation of Oregon state law concerning discriminatory acts. Accordingly, the campaign has been disabled."
It would appear the Kleins are guilty of some pretty horrific acts, at least according to GoFundMe. The website GoFundMe said in a statement Saturday that it took down the page because the campaign violated the policy against raising money “in defense of formal charges of heinous crimes, including violent, hateful, or sexual acts.”Who would have guessed refusing to bake some cupcakes for a couple of lesbos would be viewed as so dastardly.
Moreover, a study of funds that are approved by GFM causes one to wonder: "Apparently GoFundMe has no problem raising money for legal funds, as long as it’s not for Christians. Aldo Alvarez was charged with burglary with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer after allegedly attacking Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy Joshua McGehee. McGeheee shot Alvarez, and GoFundMe hasn’t taken down Alvarez’s account.
Neither have they taken down the hundreds of legal defense fund accounts, many of the beneficiaries of which face “formal charges of heinous crimes, including violent, hateful, or sexual acts.”
There is some good news, however. Rev. Franklin Graham has stepped in to fill the breach and is raising funds for the Kleins as well as others of our Christian brethren who are being persecuted for their beliefs.
