"Members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee said on Wednesday that Sgt Tahmooressi should be on his way home soon. Chairman Ed Royce (R-Calif.), who has met with Tahmooressi and has been pressuring Mexican authorities over the release of Tahmooressi said that a breakthrough was reached last week. Tahmooressi has been diagnosed with PTSD and accidentally crossed the Mexican border with guns in his car and has been under arrest in Mexico ever since.

“Last week I had a good and productive conversation with the Mexican Attorney General and am confident that a humanitarian release of Andrew will occur very soon so he can start getting better.”

Rep. Matt Salmon (R-Ariz.) told members of the committee that they would free Tahmooressi as soon as they got proof of Tahmooressi’s diagnosis. The committee gathered the necessary paperwork and have sent it to the Mexican authorities and they are expecting Tahmooressi to be released very soon:

“He has the authority within Mexican law to dismiss Sgt. Tahmooressi’s case on humanitarian grounds once he has expert testimony that verifies his combat-specific PTSD diagnosis. Chairman Royce and I obtained the appropriate expert medical reports, and forwarded them to the Mexican Attorney General’s desk this past Friday.”

I suppose the Mexicans have rubbed the gringos face in it enough for now. Meanwhile we will continue to give freebies to Mexicans illegally in our country and stupid Americans will continue to travel down there spending money which props up their lousy economy.
