Why the Michael Flynn “Scandal” is a Giant Nothingburger The resistance thinks it will bring down Trump; It won’t Paul Joseph Watson PrisonPlanet.com December 1, 2017
As news broke that Michael Flynn would testify that Donald Trump ordered him to talk to the Russians during the transition phase between administrations, the left exploded with glee that actual evidence of “Russian collusion” was in sight and it could bring down Trump.
The reality turned out to be somewhat disappointing for them.
ABC News reported that Trump directed Flynn to speak with the Russians “initially as a way to work together to fight ISIS in Syria.”
In other words, Trump committed the grievous sin of attempting to work diplomatically with another super power to defeat Islamic terrorism.
This is hardly the damaging revelation Trump’s enemies had been hoping for.
“Sorry to be a party-pooper but if this is the extent of the “directive” Flynn received, it’s incredibly mundane,” commented journalist Michael Tracey.
As the National Review’s Andrew McCarthy points out, “There’s less to the news than meets the eye.”
“It remains unclear why the Obama Justice Department chose to investigate Flynn. There was nothing wrong with the incoming national-security adviser’s having meetings with foreign counterparts or discussing such matters as the sanctions in those meetings. Plus, if the FBI had FISA recordings of Flynn’s conversations with Kislyak, there was no need to ask Flynn what the conversations entailed,” he writes.
“Flynn is prepared to testify that Trump directed him to make contact with the Russians — initially to lay the groundwork for mutual efforts against ISIS in Syria. That, however, is exactly the sort of thing the incoming national-security adviser is supposed to do in a transition phase between administrations. If it were part of the basis for a “collusion” case arising out of Russia’s election meddling, then Flynn would not be pleading guilty to a process crime — he’d be pleading guilty to an espionage conspiracy.”
In other words, for Flynn’s behavior to be proof of “Russian collusion” that embroils Trump, he would have had to had access to a time machine given that he spoke with Kislyak after the election.
The notion that Trump colluded with Russia by asking Flynn to speak to Ambassador Kislyak is also ludicrous.
As the passage below highlights, hundreds of Congressman, Senators and members of the State Department have met with Kislyak since he became ambassador in 2008.
Talking to ambassadors is not a criminal offense, it’s a routine procedure for incoming administrations. Obama campaign officials responsible for the “reset policy” with Russia met with Russian officials back in 2008 before the election had even taken place.
The real reason Flynn was brought down on a technicality is because he made an enemy out of the deep state by directing exposing them for failing to fight ISIS and to some extent actually helping the spread of radical Islam.
As Mike Cernovich points out, “Flynn’s estimated prison sentence is 0 to 6 months and a $500 to $9,500 fine. Ignore the headlines and read the legal documents. This was a bullshit technicality they got General Flynn on.”

Maybe they're hoping that the people won't notice they caught a fish in the wrong fishing hole. They were supposed to bring a fish back from the pond called Russian Collusion and they threw their baited line in the pond called Russian Diplomacy.
It appears General Flynn was wise to cooperate. In doing so perhaps his guilt for 'lying to the FBI' will be wiped out.
In answer to a reporter's question, Trump declared the Russian scandal to be "a ruse." He said he hadn't asked Flynn to contact the Russian ambassador but admitted that Flynn was contacting the Russian Ambassador on his behalf. Trump is the President-Elect at this point!
Trump was reacting to Obama's last minute sanctions as a lame duck. If Flynn hadn't contacted Kislyak, Trump said he would have asked him to do so.
Folks, this was AFTER the election and a legitimate part of his upcoming duties.
So the "Nothingburger" lives on!
The news stories contain nothing so far except Democrats licking their chops, creating false headlines and having a premature celebration mini-party.

"Failure to adequately denounce Islamic extremism, not only denies the existence of an absolute moral wrong but inherently diminishes our chances of defeating it." Tulsi Gabbard

Joy Behar, the coven of The View harridans, and their brain dead audience react to the first report. Simply delightful. I wonder what they will be saying about this Monday morning.
"I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!" https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/stat...007006526959618
ABC News corrects bombshell Flynn report by Oliver Darcy December 1, 2017: 11:14 PM ET
ABC News on Friday evening corrected an explosive special report that aired in the morning saying that Donald Trump, as a candidate for president, had asked Michael Flynn to make contact with Russians.
During "World News Tonight," ABC News investigative reporter Brian Ross said the source who had provided the initial information for his story later told him that it was as president-elect, not as a candidate, that Trump asked Flynn to contact the Russians.
The initial report, based on one anonymous source, prompted a dramatic reaction in the financial markets, and the Dow fell more than 350 points.
Stocks largely recovered later in the day.

CNN had reached out to ABC News in the early afternoon to ask why Ross' initial reporting was not included in the network's online story about Flynn pleading guilty to lying to the FBI.
Several hours later, a spokesperson for the network told CNN that Ross would be issuing a "clarification" on "World News Tonight," which airs at 6:30 p.m. ET.
"[A] clarification tonight on something one of Flynn's confidants told us and we reported earlier today," Ross said on the program. "He said the president had asked Flynn to contact Russia during the campaign. He's now clarifying that saying, according to Flynn, candidate Trump asked him during the campaign to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other world hot spots. And then after the election, the president-elect asked him to contact Russia on issues including working together to fight ISIS."
ZitatABC News has announced that Brian Ross would be suspended for four weeks without pay "effective immediately."
"It is vital we get the story right and retain the trust we have built with our audience - these are our core principles. We fell far short of that yesterday," the network said in a statement on Saturday. "Effective immediately, Brian Ross will be suspended for four weeks without pay
