Update!!! Breaking: Former Clinton Pollster Doug Schoen Withdraws Support for Hillary Over Renewed FBI Investigation
Democrat pollster Doug Schoen, who advised President Bill’s Clinton’s 1996 reelection campaign and worked on Hillary Clinton’s failed 2008 presidential bid, has withdrawn his endorsement of Hillary Clinton for the presidency following the renewal of the FBI investigation into Clinton and her her top aide Huma Abedin. Schoen said he fears a constitutional crisis should Clinton be elected and sworn into office while under investigation
Schoen made the announcement on the Fox News Channel Sunday night where he is a contributor. Video of the announcement was posted to Twitter.
“Given that this investigation is going to go on for many months after the election, no matter who wins, but if [Hillary Clinton] wins, we will have a president under criminal investigation with Huma Abedin under investigation,” Schoen said. “[U]nder these circumstances, I am actively reassessing my support. I’m not a Trump person.”
“I’m deeply concerned that we will have a Constitutional crisis if she’s elected. I want to learn more this week, see what we see. But as of today, I am not a supporter of the Secretary of State for the nation’s highest office,” he continued.

“I am deeply concerned that we will have a constitutional crisis if she’s elected. I want to learn more this week, see what we see, but as of today, I am not a supporter of the Secretary of State for the nation’s highest office.”
With those words during my weekly program on the FOX Report, Political Insiders, I made one of the toughest and biggest decisions of my career.
As I have written so many times before, I’m deeply proud of the work I did for President Bill Clinton between 1994 and 2000. We won re-election successfully in 1996 and actually worked with the other side – a tradition in American politics that has now been lost. And I worked closely with Secretary Clinton, who I admire greatly.
But since Friday’s announcement from FBI Director James Comey that the FBI may have found emails related to the Clinton probe on Anthony Weiner’s computer, the prospect of a successful Clinton presidency has been thrown into chaos.
What I mean by this is that we are staring down the barrel of a criminal investigation of President-elect Clinton. We will also be facing investigations into her top aide, Huma Abedin, who apparently forwarded emails to her shared computer with her husband, Weiner, to print and give to the former Secretary of State. And there’s a very real chance that there will be investigations into the actions of the Justice Department and the FBI Director himself.
This is no way to start any presidency, let alone one after such a tumultuous campaign and eight years of hyper partisanship that has left America more divided than ever before.
Americans overwhelmingly want politicians to work together to advance their interests and are craving a change from business-as-usual Washington. This is perhaps the principal motivating factor in support for Trump and was fueling Bernie Sanders’s campaign as well. Clinton was always the establishment candidate, a reality voters came to grips with, but never favored outright. When close to 70% think the country is headed in the wrong direction, this should come as no surprise.
It follows that I naturally worry about the consequences of a president-elect who is totally and utterly immobilized due to partisanship and scandal.
I remember Watergate well. And though the crimes committed were serious and quite rightly the focal point of the scandal, there was something else seriously troubling that occurred. As a result of Watergate, the United State was paralyzed and unable to act. President Nixon and the government was rendered impotent, unable to govern and meet their responsibilities to the American public.
I worry that we could might very well face the same fate with a President Clinton.
This is why I withdrew my support for Secretary Clinton. I am still a Democrat and I am not voting for Donald Trump. His worldview is at odds with my own. But if we don’t consider the real prospect of a constitutional crisis under a Clinton presidency, we’re in for a very troubling four years.

I may not agree with Schoen's worldview but he deserves credit for following his conscience, and for being willing to express view in public.
I'm certain he knows that he's opening himself up to all kinds of flack.
