Broadway comes up with the solution to the problem of Islamic violence.
ZitatWhen the Hamilton cast takes the stage at tonight’s Tony Awards, one thing will be conspicuously missing: guns.
In the wake of Sunday’s mass shooting at a gay club in Orlando that left at least 50 people dead, the cast of Hamilton have opted not to wield prop firearms during their performance, per New York Times theater reporter Michael Paulson.

Tony organizers released a statement announcing that tonight’s ceremony (8/7c, CBS) would be dedicated to “the families and friends of those affected” by the tragedy.
Dedicated? Not cancelled? Wouldn't cancelling the ceremonies show greater compassion for those who died and their families and friends, whatever loss of income might result? Wouldn't it also show greater concern if the Hamilton show, in fact all of Broadway, cancelled all performances for at least 2 weeks? Could these cancellations be extended to all movies and amusement parks like Disney?
The fact Hollywood and Broadway are failing to put all operations on hiatus is either evidence of homophobia or indifference to the Pulse shootings, I don't know which; but for my part I will practice what I preach and will not go to any movie, Broadway play, or major amusement park for at least 2 weeks.
That's going to make the duel with Burr rather interesting. The actors going to point their fingers at each other and go "Bang! Bang!" like kids playing guns in the '50s?
