Bush called President Barack Obama a 'Christian' and called for a return to civility between political parties

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush reacted on Friday to the latest controversy roiling the GOP race by identifying President Barack Obama as 'an American' and 'Christian', and calling for a return to civility in national politics.
Bush was alluding to an episode on Thursday in which rival Donald Trump declined to correct a questioner who called Obama 'Muslim' and 'not even an American'.
'Barack Obama is a talented man - and by the way he's an American, he's a Christian - his problem isn't the fact that he was born here or what his faith is,' Bush said in a speech. 'His problem is that he's a progressive liberal who tears down anybody that disagrees with him,' Bush said.
