Unemployment Drops To 6.7%, Down From 7% In November, 74K Added- Do You Believe In The Tooth Fairy?
ZitatThe civilian labor force participation rate declined by 0.2 percentage point to 62.8 percent in December, offsetting a change of the same magnitude in November. In December, the employment-population ratio was unchanged at 58.6 percent. The labor force participation rate declined by 0.8 percentage point over the year, while the employment-population ratio was unchanged. (See table A-1.)
If you look at table B-1, http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.t17.htm the non seasonally adjusted figures show a loss of 246,000 jobs. Through the magic of the birth and death model and seasonal adjustment that become +74,000.
