And here is a copy of the school district’s e-mail to teachers...:

On Friday, January 20, 2017, our Nation will undergo the peaceful transfer of power, as one President ends his term and another begins his.

Many media outlets will broadcast the inauguration of the 45th President.

The ceremony, which is steeped in history and tradition, provides an opportunity for the public to watch the pomp and circumstance unfold.

It also highlights how a new Administration interprets and embraces history and tradition.

The inauguration events can certainly be a learning opportunity for our students.

Please keep a few things in mind if you decide to show the inauguration during the school day.

Parents will need to provide permission for their children to view the inauguration.

Teachers and administrators should not share their personal political opinions in regard to the inauguration.

Students whose parents don’t want them to view the inauguration must be provided an alternate learning activity.

A major historical event which none can argue isn't a great lesson in contemporary events and yet this school requires a parental permission slip for students to watch. I wonder if this school district required the same with either of the Obama inaugurations.

No, not really. I don't wonder about that.

If nothing else Trump has brought to the forefront the absolute hypocrasy and insanity of progressives.

My daughter is a high school band director. She dragged out an old TV at the school and is putting on the inauguration.

She knows she'll get flack but figures it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
