In a move that may be an early signal of a new establishment front-runner in the crowded Republican presidential field, billionaire investor Paul Singer has pledged his support to Florida Senator Marco Rubio. Singer, the 71-year-old founder of hedge fund Elliott Associates, is not only one of the Republican party’s largest individual donors but is also regarded as especially influential among wealthy Republicans—the kind of campaign backer who can spur others to follow him. Among Singer’s chief causes are same-sex marriage and U.S. support for Israel.

Make no mistake, Singer is a major Republican player having given a great deal of money to the Party over the years. However, in addition to his support for same sex marriage noted above, he also has a dubious record when it comes to immigration issues. IMHO, this does not speak well for Rubio.

Of course it doesn't - to us. But I'll say the same thing here I say to my wife when we're watching some off the wall TV show or advertisement: "We're not the target audience."

If Rubio is to be the "establishment" gop-e candidate (and it's looking more and more - with Jeb's! implosion - that he will be), then he MUST have the "proper" viewpoint on the illegal invasion.

It's what the ruling party wants - and they will pay dearly to get it.

I see it as more of an investment in future profits.
