#1 Important news from WaPo: “There’s not much Indian left in Bobby Jindal” by Cincinnatus 24.06.2015 20:48

Governor Jindal announces his intent to seek the Republican Presidential nomination and immediately that champion of tolerance and diversity the ultra-Liberal Washington Post attacks him for being assimilated to American culture and not true to his ethnic heritage.

Incidentally, I can only cite a website which carries some of the WaPo smear because to access WaPo's own site requires a subscription (which I find to be insensitive to the plight of the poor).

"As a child, he announced he wanted to go by the name “Bobby,” after a character in the “Brady Bunch.” He converted from Hinduism to Christianity as a teen, and was later baptized a Catholic as a student at Brown University — making his devotion to Christianity a centerpiece of his public life. He and his wife were quick to say in a “60 Minutes” interview in 2009 that they do not observe many Indian traditions — although they had two wedding ceremonies, one Hindu and one Catholic. He said recently he wants to be known simply as an American, not an Indian American…

“My mom was fully committed to raising us as Americans,” Jindal said. “That was a conscious decision. We ate food that would be familiar to other families in south Louisiana. She wanted to raise us like other kids in the neighborhood.”…

He began wearing cowboy boots more often [as governor] and got a hunting license. In December, he and wife Supriya were pictured on their Christmas card with their three kids decked out in camouflage. The governor said he started hunting regularly more recently in life and can’t recall much about his first kill.

When Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to the United States to visit last September, a host of politicians attended his rally at Madison Square Garden. Jindal did not. When Jindal’s name was mentioned, he was booed by the crowd."

Good heavens, the man "wants to be known simply as an American, not an Indian American…" Oh, the horror! Guys obviously totally unqualified to be a governor, much less President.

The Weekly Standard, btw, demonstrates this is the latest meme in bigotry from the Left (America's biggest pack of hypocrites).

"For a conservative not born a white male in this country, this is pretty much par for the course. There wasn’t much black in Clarence Thomas, not much woman in Kay Bailey Hutchinson (according to proto-girl Gloria Steinem), and there won’t be much anything in any Republican black, female, Latino, or non-male, non-purely-Anglo aspirant who has any chance of winning elections, gaining a following, or making a dent in the various voting blocs the liberals think of as theirs.

It brings to mind Mark Halperin’s embarrassing grilling of Ted Cruz a short time ago, in which he tried to discover, via his preferences in food, drink, and music, if Cruz was really a Cuban, and asked him to say something in his non-native tongue. But why is “enoughness” confined to such a small spectrum? It ought to be spread more around."

"... insensitive to the plight of the poor"

This is putting Alinsky's Rule # 4 to good use.
